One District, Seven Schools, One Clear Energy Outlier
School districts rarely lack data. Utility bills, interval meters, building controls, schedules, and work orders all contain signals about building performance. The challenge is that these signals are often reviewed one school at a time.
That makes it difficult to answer a valuable question: Which schools are using more energy than they should, relative to comparable sites?
In one Edviro customer portfolio, seven schools were brought into a unified data platform. Once the team could compare sites with similar enrollment, a major outlier stood out: one school was using about five times as much energy as comparable schools.
That insight would have been much harder to find through separate reviews of each site. The portfolio view gave the facilities team a clear starting point for investigation.
A high-use school is not automatically a failure. It is a prompt to investigate: is equipment running after hours; has a schedule drifted; is there a controls, mechanical, or billing issue; or are weather, occupancy, or a special program explaining the difference?
Edviro brings bills, meter data, schedules, controls, alarms, and work orders into a single view. That gives multi-site districts a practical way to identify outliers, investigate likely causes, prioritize action, and measure the result.
